"Being at Sciences Po Lille is a uniquely satisfying experience in the academic world!
And teaching as a Visiting Professor to international and French students is an even more amazing experience for an academic!
At Sciences Po Lille the Study Plan is not rigidly delineated once for all. The meetings I hold with international students when we discuss the different study paths they have followed in their university of origin, with their different cultures and educational history means that every year my study course at Sciences Po Lille can freely and easily change to adapt to the new students’ needs and to the innovations afforded by research. This means, of course, my having to adapt my teaching methods also.
But this is not all. Not only can the content change over time but the subjects can also be adapted in the light of the needs for continuing educational growth. Five years ago in my first year at Sciences Po Lille I taught "Corporate Criminal Liability in the European Systems", whilst in the current academic year, in view of the demands arising in the European context, I proposed to devote my course to "The European Union Institutions and the law-making process ". Unlike in other universities, at Sciences Po Lille this change was welcomed with enthusiasm and made possible within a few days!
At Sciences Po Lille teaching is a highly challenging but rewarding since the students come from every corner of the world and their study paths are extremely varied!
Sciences Po Lille is a highly multicultural and multilingual university environment to which I return every year full of enthusiasm and keen to meet the latest cohort of inspiring and active students!
In my time as a lecturer I have taught university students on various courses, especially law and political sciences, but at Sciences Po Lille teaching complex legal issues at the same time to students, not only with a background in political sciences and law, but also in economics, engineering, physics and mathematics, philosophy and literature, is a major challenge that positively marks the life of a teacher, while stimulating research, in the awareness that one is making a fundamental contribution to the education of the individual students.
To put it briefly, Sciences Po Lille is a place where foreign students can have an international experience with a different approach to learning from what they are used in their home universities, but this is equally true for me as their lecturer. I love meeting and teaching international students, and they enrich me with their study and life experiences.
I would recommend to all students who wish to enjoy not only a rigorous, modern and challenging education period, but also an international experience to move to study to Sciences Po Lille or at least to spend a year of their course here.
As a student or as a lecturer, you don’t have to travel the world to enrich your education because this gift is a reality simply by studying or teaching at Sciences Po Lille!"
Antonio Del Sole teaches and participates in seminars on Tax Criminal Law and Procedure, Corporate Criminal Law and Procedure, Computer Law and Legal Informatics, Economic Criminal Law, Law of Criminal Procedure, Comparative European Criminal Procedure, European Union Law in postgraduate courses and master classes at several Universities in Italy and throughout Europe.
