
The France Excellence Programme was lauched by Campus France and the French Ambassy in China and Brazil. It allows students who finished their master studies in their home country to come to France during a Summer in order to get to know the background of French Research, to learn French, and to come back in France to do their thesis.
Sciences Po Lille was delighted to receive 8 students from China and 2 students from Brazil through this programme in 2018.
Students who are selected to be part of the France Excellence Programme will receive a grant that covers all their expenses during their stay (welcome services, courses, activities, accomodation and restauration) except for their plane ticket and the insurances.
The cultural programme, as well as the welcome services (accommodation & restauration included), will be proposed by the International Academy, the Summer University for international students at the Communauté d’Universités et Établissements Lille Nord de France.

RECEPTION PROCEDURE
Arrival in France and transfer to your accomodation. You will be welcomed at the Paris Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport.HOUSING

You will be staying in a 18 square meter furnished room, with private bathroom and unlimited wifi access.
Meals: Your breakfasts, lunches and dinners have been booked throughout your stay : these will be delivered to your hall of residence, served in university canteen, or in town.
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
On your first day in Lille you will be given a TRANSPOLE travel card. This card will enable you to have unlimited travel around Lille European Metropole area by underground, bus, tram and train network.CATERING

The calendar of activities for the 2019 Summer School in not set yet. However, some activies from the 2018 Summer School will be part of the programme such as the Paper Chase, the Pic Nic, The Field Trips to Paris and Brussels, the Cooking Lessons, the Ch'ti evening and the Closing Coktail.COURSES
France Excellence Sciences Po Lille's Summer School consists of intensive short-term program with different courses such as Law, Economics and Politics.The 2019 Summer School offers a programme around 2 tracks:

- French Language & Society
Students will have the opportunity to divide their time in Lille between modules which focus on International and European affairs, including issues such as European identity and values.
The courses in French language aims to enhance and perfect their language skills as well provide some understanding of the contemporary aspects of French society.

This module aims to develop students' ability to demonstrate some understanding of the French language, as well as speak, read and write French with relative proficiency. Professors will help students to develop communication skills through regular class discussions, one-on-one conversations, role plays and oral presentations with classmates. The aim of this course is that students will gain fluency in French while increasing their knowledge of France.
- Contemporary French society (8x1,5h soit 12h): This seminar intends to present the main aspects of the French society, compared with other European industrialized countries. Indeed, the main objective is to analyze how the French society functions, taking into account some of the main historical steps which established the basis of the welfare system, of the labor market, the role of women in society, the system of education, etc. Comparisons with other countries will be encouraged during all the seminar and students will be also encouraged to present the functioning of their own country. At the end of the seminar, students have to be able to understand some of the important issues in France and what is mainly at stake in contemporary debates.
