Summer School's Second field trip in Brussels

Summer School's Second field trip in Brussels

Guided tour of EU institutions

2nd Field trip of the Sciences Po Lille’s Summer School !

Students share time together to discover Brussels and the EU institutions for one day:

Morning :
2 individual conferences at the European External Action Service (EEAS).
The European Union plays important roles in diplomacy, trade, development aid and work with global organisations.
One of the key tasks of the EEAS is to ensure that all the different activities that the EU performs abroad are consistent and effective.
This is particularly important because many of the EU's foreign programmes are organised by different divisions of the European Commission.

Here are just some examples of the roles the European Union plays beyond its borders:

- Contributor to peace
- A responsible neighbour
- Development partner
- Human rights defender
- Partner to the United Nations
- Force for global security
- Crisis Response & Humanitarian Aid
- Advocate of action on climate change
- Trading bloc
- An expanding union
